PAST MAJOR EVENTS (click for details)

RECURRING MEMBER EVENTS:

The Josh Dodes Band, featuring Josh Dodes ’95, is back with their funk-drippin', ass-kickin', shake your buttin' sets (you might have seen them on VH1's "Bands on the Run").

Funk pianist/songwriter Josh Dodes formed the Josh Dodes Band in 1998 after two years of increasingly successful solo shows. With the addition of several top-notch players to the mix (Phil Tremblay on drums, Daryl Wilkerson on bass, Michael Bellar on organ, and Adrian Hartley on backup vocals), the band has been building its fan base throughout the Northeast at an exp.onential rate ever since. The band regularly sells out the legendary Bitter End, their home base in New York, and has also played regularly in New Haven (where they have opened for Indigo Girls), Philadelphia (where they have gotten radio play on local favorite WXPN), and Washington, DC (where they have played the Kennedy Center's Millennium Stage and where they have recently been selected as featured performers at 1999's annual Kennedy Center Open House). The band is currently playing shows in support of their debut album, Get Up, and seeking a major-label record deal.

Now that's Rock and Roll - Village Voice

...possibly one of the most promising talents to pop up in ages  - Backstage Magazine

Mike Errico, Yale ’89 and a recent signing of Hybrid/Sire Records, ROCKS!!

Check out at Mike's major label debut, Pictures of the Big Vacation,
- at Amazon Now, or your local record store

Mike was an emerging artist at Woodstock '99, and has opened for artists as diverse as Mike Glabicki (of Rusted Root), Semisonic, Shannon Curfman, Art Garfunkel, Our Lady Peace, Run DMC, Bob Weir and Rob Wasserman, Ratdog, Moxy Fruvous, Vertical Horizon, The Pushstars, Great Big Sea, Derek Trucks, Bif Naked, Eszter Balint, Warren Zevon, Jon Doe, Jill Sobule, The Silos, Guster, Dido, Dar Williams, and many, many others, including one 80's dance party in Asbury Park, New Jersey.

Check out the website (www.errico.com) for the gig dates

Mixing rock soul, funk and folk with heaps of energy, Mike is, hands down, one of the best solo performers I've ever witnessed. This man and his songs are so good that a full band would only dilute the magic of his work. Bravo! - FAZE 3 MAGAZINE, North Carolina

Cleverness and crudeness haven't been this catchy since the Beatles winsomely repeated the word tit on Rubber Soul's "Girl"
- TIME OUT Magazine, NYC

Django & the Regulars  featuring Django Haskins '95

The result of extensive genetic exp.erimentation, Django and the Regulars were born with an extra rock gene. But rather than let this get them down, they use it to their advantage every time they step on the stage.  Ringmaster Django Haskins, a recent CMJ NewMusic Report's "A&R Pick," is hailed as "an artist with a bright future...recommended to anyone looking for fresh songwriting talent." Django & co. have toured in the U.S., Canada, and the U.K., and recently recorded new tracks with legendary rock producer Don Fleming (Sonic Youth, Posies, Teenage Fanclub, Smithereens, Dinosaur Jr.). Melodic, lyrically sharp, and rockin', they come off like the bastard sons of Westerberg, McCartney, and Costello, but with a smart swagger all their own.

Give Norman Rockwell a Fender Telecaster and imagine what it would sound like. Probably not very good. Norm was tone deaf. Django, on the other hand, is not - Jason Finestone

Resonates with the spark of a gifted singer and lyricist delivering songs from the heart... Imagine a hybrid between Elvis Costello and Tom Petty and you've got a pretty good idea of what Haskins is all about - FMQB

Haskins has a strong vision for melodic, intelligent music in the tradition of such songsmiths as Elvis Costello. Django is a name you will be seeing more of - Songwriter's Monthly

"Allegedly Quite Fun"
- The Village Voice

Evil Jake is led by Mike Jacobs '95, and features a fine, fine brand of music to dance and scream by.

Post-punk alternative psycho power pop with a shot of rockabilly and a twist of glam - or something like that...

"Never heard of Evil Jake?  Don’t worry — soon they’ll be one of those bands that
you end up changing the radio station when their latest over-played hit comes on…
Evil Jake call its music a mixture of power pop, punk and alt rock.
I just call it good music."  - fm sound

thePasties are led by former Whiffenpoof Devon Copley '95!  Get more details, bios, and lots of cool stuff at... www.thepasties.com

Catch the Vocals of singer/songwriter/guitarplayer Marlee Napurano '95 and her band

The singer, songwriter, and guitar-swinging Marlee Napurano brings a new sound to three old genres: pop, rock, and folk. With a mixture of intimate, jazzy ballads and jolting rock licks, she brings a "reviving breath to the New York live scene." On stage Marlee, "washes her experiences over her audience" with a vocal style somewhere between Ani Defranco and Ella Fitzgerald. While at Yale University, she sang a 2 hour program for President Clinton at the White House for the 75th Anniversary of Women's Suffrage. After graduating from Yale Marlee put together an acoustic duo and hit the coffeehouses and open mics. At one such open mic in 1998, the house band approached Marlee and asked to be her band on her original project, and the trio of Marlee, drummer Casey O'Connor and bassist Steve Johnson was born. In the true independent spirit, Marlee has seen through production a full length CD and a new 3 song demo and is entirely self-managed and self-promoted.
